The sewn-in label — 16 CFR Part 257. Every unit carries a label stating 100% modacrylic, country of origin (China), care instructions and the responsible company. Modacrylic is a synthetic fiber: this is not human hair, not a blend, and not "Remy" or "virgin" — those words describe human hair and are not used anywhere on this site.
Care

Make it last

Washing
  1. Detangle dry, starting at the ends, with a wide-tooth comb.
  2. Wash cool with a sulphate-free shampoo. Never hot water.
  3. Condition mid-length to ends, rinse cool.
  4. Blot with a microfibre towel — don't rub. Air dry on a stand.
Storage
On a stand or in its net, away from heat and direct sun. Never store wet or compressed at the fold.
Heat styling
Modacrylic takes low heat — up to 300 °F / 150 °C. Use a temperature-controlled iron, indirect heat, no more than 5 seconds per section, and test on a weft at the nape first. Above that range the fiber glazes and the curl will not come back. No hot rollers left in, no boiling water, no oven.
