100% modacrylic — a high-temperature synthetic fiber, the same family as Kanekalon and Toyokalon. It is not human hair, not a blend, and not "Remy" or "virgin" (both of which describe human hair). The sewn-in label says modacrylic; so does every spec sheet on this site.
Yes, within limits: up to 300 °F / 150 °C, indirect heat, no more than 5 seconds on one section, and test on a weft at the nape first. Past that the fiber glazes — the curl flattens and won't come back. Curling irons on the lowest usable setting, no hot rollers left in, no boiling water.
No. Synthetic fiber doesn't take conventional dye. If you want color, buy the color — we carry 1B, 99J, 613, honey highlight, copper ombré and chocolate brown.
A few strands a day is normal for any wig. Heavy shedding in the first washes is not — if it happens, email us a video and we'll make it right.
Our caps are 22.0 in / 56 cm, adjustable 21.5–23.0 in (54.5–58.5 cm), with 14.5 in front-to-nape and 12.5 in ear-to-ear — the same figures on every style page. Measure first with the size guide. Above 23 in, message us before ordering.
With cool washing, dry storage and heat kept at or below 300 °F, a modacrylic unit holds its set for 4–6 months of regular wear (two to three times a week). Worn daily with heat styling, expect closer to three months before the ends dull. We say that instead of "lasts a year", because the second number is the one you would find out about anyway.
